The Outlander by Gil Adamson

An exceptional first novel which was recently our Book of the Month.  If you are in search of a literary thriller for the winter months, look no further.  A young woman is on the run across the Canadian wilderness, pursued by two sinister men, powerfully built and full of determination.  They believe she murdered their brother, her husband.  The widow's story comes out gradually through the breathless escape.  She encounters a wonderful and varied range of characters en route and learns much about survival, both physical and emotional.
