Summer Reading Diary
Summer Reading Diary winners announced on National Bookshop Day
National Bookshop Day on 6th October seemed like the perfect moment to award our winners and runners up from the inaugural Summer Reading Diary competition. The campaign was launched in June to encourage local and visiting children to review up to five books they’d read over the summer holidays. There were two categories, 4-7yrs and 8-11yr, and two big prizes – win your height in books!
In the end, we received so many brilliant entries, that we awarded two brothers as joint winners in the 4-7yrs category, and had to add in two runners up in each group as it was so hard to choose. As booksellers, there is really nothing better than witnessing and reading the enthusiasm of young readers so a huge thank you to all the children who entered, and of course CONGRATULATIONS to our winners:
Soren & Sullivan Millar-McMeeken, Rosamund, Lilidh Shortel, Orran Dalrymple, Vivian & Beatrice Church
4-7yrs – winners Soren & Sullivan Millar-McMeeken, runners up, Ella Marshall and Beatrice Church
8-11yrs – winner Lilidh Shortel, runners up Orran Dalrymple and Ryan Scott
HUGE thanks also to our prize ‘win your height in books’ sponsor, Hodder Children’s Books.
