Ann Cleeves

Author Event – Sorry, this event is SOLD OUT

We’re delighted to announce that Ann Cleeves will be at Mainstreet on Tues 18th September to celebrate publication of Wild Fire, the eighth and final book in her hugely popular Shetland series.

The series was launched to critical acclaim in 2006 when the first book, Raven Black, won the prestigious Book of the Year at the annual Crime Writer’s Association Daggers awards. Since then it has gone on to inspire five series of BAFTA winning television, win fans across the world, and increase tourism in the Scottish archipelago.

Cleeves said: ‘It’s back to Shetland one last time, the place and the novels that have changed my life. This is a bittersweet moment in my writing career: the last of the Jimmy Perez novels; a way of tying up loose ends and celebrating my relationship with these extraordinary islands.’

Wild Fire is an intense and emotionally complex novel. Envy, motherhood and family dynamics are powerful themes and Cleeves’ plot is cleverly woven tight making it a tricky case for both Jimmy and the reader to solve.
