The fruits of a partnership between two Borderers, Gordon Hunter and Don Ledingham, Edinburgh Revisited includes 44 picture-poems of Edinburgh and a selection of work from their previous project, Borders Inheritance. Gordon and Don have been life-long friends and grew up together in Edinburgh before returning to their roots in the Borders. Gordon’s beautiful photographs are complimented by Don’s award-winning poetry and combine to provide a remarkable slant on scenes from Edinburgh and Borders rural life.
The book was launched in Edinburgh in October and has already raised over £20,000 for charity. All proceeds from sales of the book and associated framed prints are all going to two charities, Leuchie House and 500miles.
Gordon Hunter will be at Mainstreet, on the evening of the 5th December where he will tell the story of the project, sharing many of the images and associated poems. He will be joined by Selkirk actor and storyteller, John Nichol.
“An extraordinary collection, this book is a love letter – but not a private one: it is a love letter in which we all might share”. Alexander McCall Smith
