ONLINE EVENT : RACHEL JOYCE & SUSAN SPINDLER
We are delighted to be hosting Rachel Joyce and Susan Spindler, in conversation with literary agent Jenny Brown, to celebrate the release of the paperback edition of Miss Benson’s Beetle and the publication of Surrogate.
Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce is perhaps the novel we all need right now. Described by The Sunday Times as ‘A life-affirming, joyously escapist picaresque tale’, it is an intoxicating adventure story about female friendship and having the courage to live your dreams, however unlikely they may be.
Rachel loved Susan’s debut novel, Surrogate, which is the compelling story of a family in meltdown and a visceral exploration of the joys and tribulations of being female. Like Miss Benson’s Beetle, Surrogate is about a woman of a certain age becoming dissatisfied with her life and embarking on a new adventure. While Rachel’s story is full of joy, Susan’s takes a dramatic turn, but has a really wonderful life-affirming ending.
Please join us to hear these two very special authors explore themes of adventure, friendship, bravery, and family.
