Children’s books are at the heart of Mainstreet, so we are incredibly excited to announce that legendary autor and illustrator, Judith Kerr, will be with us on Friday 1st December. She will be in conversation with her editor, Ian Craig, talking about her work and celebrating publication of Katinka’s Tail.

Judith Kerr’s remarkable writing career includes her semi autobiographical novel, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, now a modern classic. Her first picture book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, was inspired by her children, and the bizarre antics of the family cat resulted in the bestselling and much-loved Mog series.

This is a one-off event, not to be missed.

Come and meet the hero of her latest book, Katinka, whom Judith describes as “a ridiculous-looking white cat with a tabby tail that looks as though it belonged to somebody else.”

We have two copies of the Scots edition of The Teeger that Cam for his Tea to giveaway to the author of the best four line poem in Scots about tigers. Please hand in (or post) entries to Rosamund or Vivian at Mainstreet by Thurs 30th Nov on a page of A4. The winners will be announced at the event on Fri 1st Dec and presented by Judith Kerr.
