Goose splits his time between the Online office and behind the Books till (while his owner Marcus works in the café). He enjoys a snooze and you would often not even know he was on the shop floor. However, he is a friendly soul so if you see his little head popping around the corner at the till, do come and say hello.

Named after Dickens’ Pickwick Papers, this giant teddy bear sometimes joins his owner (Vicky) behind the books till. Pickwick is an enthusiastic fellow who adores attention. Sometimes he gets too excited and forgets other people’s personal space but he simply wants to give as much love to humans as possible.

Daughter of Luna, Raven follows in her mother’s footsteps in adoring attention and sitting beautifully to distract staff & customers alike. She enjoys a good yak chew and will happily lie at your feet and keep them warm on cold days.

Meet Luna! Luna’s humans are Roz & Bill and she loves to join them when they come into the shop. She is incredibly cute and is absolutely shameless in using this to her advantage when seeking attention.

Helen, who is always smiling, has been with us since September 2022 and has been a key member of our Sunday team ever since. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her cat and her granddaughters.

Marcus may seem quiet, but he can be quite chatty and will come out with some great jokes (when he can get a word in edgewise with the chatty café crew). He helps bake our fresh scones in the morning and makes a great coffee.

Caron can usually be seen smiling through our kitchen windows where she is found cooking, baking and singing. She brings the sunshine, often getting the staff dancing as they pass through to keep their spirits high. She loves all things fresh and colourful and enjoys raiding our cookbook selection for inspiration.

Sue is a trained pâtisserie chef and perhaps best known for her delicious merguez sausage rolls – a smash hit sell-out in our lockdown takeaway phase. Her gluten-free treats are always to-die-for and she always likes to experiment with new recipes she has discovered on her days off.

Nina first worked at Mainstreet in her pre-university days and luckily for Mainstreet she decided to return to the Borders to lead our kitchen/café with great energy and commitment. She is always quick to put some good music on the speakers and make sure everyone is doing okay, even on her busiest days.

Isobel is back with us while she completes her Masters in Environmental Science. Splitting her time between the Deli and Café she can make a fabulous coffee as well as make sure everyone gets their cheese. On her days off (when she is supposed to be studying) she spends time with her dogs.
