We have HUGE windows at Mainstreet and it takes a lot of work from the team to keep them looking lovely.  So, we wanted to share our current designs…  We usually take a particular book or seasonal theme as inspiration.  This year marks numerous bookish anniversaries so watch this space for more coming soon… 

Garden Against Time by Olivia Laing

When Olivia Laing began to restore a walled garden in Suffolk, an overgrown Eden of unusual plants, the work drew them into an exhilarating investigation of paradise and its long association with gardens.

You had us at the title!  Big thanks for publisher, Quarto for this brilliant giant cut-out display, and to Jen, who put everything together so beautifully.

Ady and Me by Rich and Rox Pink, illustrated by Sara Rhys

We really enjoyed meeting illustrator, Sara Rhys and watching as she painted this (her first ever) window display.  Thank you Sara!

Top marks to Sarah for creating this stunning Moomins installation in celebration of 80 years of enchanting children with their adventures, complete with 3-D house.  

Long-term Mainstreet favourite, Maggie O’Farrell, is also a super-fan, she highlights the book’s unique blend of magic and darkness, as well as Jansson’s powerful prose.
