Find out about our new choice of Cookbook of the Moment.
Our cookbook of the moment is a way to bring our departments together and showcase some of our best products. By using a cookbook from our bookshop and ingredients from our deli, our café & kitchen team bring it all together to make delicious lunches and cakes for our customers.
It was a no-brainer for us to select Easy Wins by Anna Jones as our new Cookbook of the Moment. Jones is a Mainstreet favourite and her previous cookbook One: Pot, Pan, Planet was a previous cookbook of the moment and is still always being pulled off the shelf for inspiration. Easy Wins is full of even more recipes for every occasion. With 12 flavour staples that you can find in your pantry, Jones helps you create super simple recipes that will always triumph.
Nina, our Café Manager has selected her top two recipes that she is excited to try. First up is the Miso Maple Beetroot with Goat’s Curd…
Typically used in Japanese dishes, Miso is a a versatile flavour that can be used in so many dishes. Jones has paired it with some classically British ingredients to help make the most of what we can easily find in your local shop and keep it simple. Going into detail about the different misos you can buy but also make at home she tells you how to get the most out of this usful ingredient.
The second recipe is from the Caper’s chapter. These delicious looking Brown Butter Potatoes with Lime Tartar Sauce are going to become a go-to for Nina at home, who always keeps a jar of capers in her cupboard. Bringing the perfect balance of salt and acidity to any meal, they are a principal ingredient in many vegeatrian dishes. These potatoes can be used as a side but they could easily be a meal by themselves.
This cookbook is meant to help you make the most out of every meal. As with her previous works, Anna Jones has a focus on sustainability. Easy Wins lets you use what you have in your cupboards, limiting food waste and allowing you to make the most of the staples across lots of different recipes.
