We were getting ahead for the festive season with Jane Lovett

Jane Lovett joined us on Thursday 24th October to help us get ready for the festive season ahead that will see many of us hosting our friends and family. All we can say is thank goodness for Jane! As ever, she delivered a treat of an event at Mainstreet, and we all now feel remarkably relaxed about Christmas cooking!

As she talked us through how to get ahead this Christmas, she managed to whip up her  delicious trout croustades and cranberry frangipane ‘Bakewell’ tarts. If you like the sound of these and you want to make them yourself (we can highly recommend!) you can grab yourself a copy of her new book in the shop or online via Bookshop.org HERE.

About the book

Christmas is coming, but how does it always manage to take us by surprise? The Get-Ahead Christmas Cook is the ultimate stress-busting guide for the festive period, with fail-safe recipes that can be prepared and often made ahead, along with hints, tips and menus
for the big day and beyond. There are also lots of creative tricks for using up leftovers, plus – if you have any room left – indulgent baking and sweet treats!
