Demonstrating & chatting all things foodie

Visitors to Mainstreet will know that Midweek Recipes is one of our all-time favourites in the café, so we were very excited to see what Jess has come up with for the new book…

“With chapters of Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Baking, Dinner and Pudding, these are the flavours and methods for when work is on pause and there’s slightly more time for connecting with your ingredients, kitchen and company.  Including everything from my sherbet-y lemon curd for spreading over toast in the morning, to sweet roast pepper, charred silverskin onion and parmesan crostini for mid-day, to spaghetti and oregano meatballs followed by blackcurrant pavlova with lemon and bay custard for the evening.” 

Jess demonstrated some of her new recipes, including Roasted Peppers, Charred Silverskin Onions (for eating with a baguette) and Fig, Brown Sugar and Oat Cookies.  The demo, chat and food were greatly enjoyed by all who attended.  It was a real treat having Jess back with us!

 

This event was held at the Mainstreet Trading Company in the barn.
