Jess joined us to launch her new cookbook Midweek Recipes
Jess Elliott Dennison has a huge following for her down-to-earth, unpretentious, yet utterly delicious food. Her previous books, Lazy Baking and Tin Can Magic, have long been favourites at Mainstreet, so we knew you were in for a treat with Midweek Recipes.
During her cookery demo, Jess showed us how to make delicious kimchi & cheddar ritters and a treacle fig tea loaf. She reminded us that good food does not have to be complicated. Her quick and simple tips to elevate your dishes will certainly be put into practice in all of our kitchens and, after learning she used around 150 lemons a day in her café, we would not be surprised if the local shops suddenly find themselves with a lemon shortage.
If you are a keen home cook in search of new ideas, or, like some of us, a little less confident in the kitchen, Jess has got you covered, keeping things simple and delicious. Her new book covers everything from peanut butter chilli noodles to the easiest lemon-cream linguine; the fluffiest flatbreads and a comforting self-saucing chocolate pudding to flop onto the sofa with.
We are very lucky to have Jess as one of our regulars and to be classed as her ‘happy place’ is a real honour.
We have a limited number of signed copies of ‘Midweek Recipes’ in the shop. If you would like to reserve a copy, please get in touch via email or give us a call on 01835824087.
